SAN FERNANDO FLAGELATIONS
28th of March 2024 I was able to attend the flagelations that occur in San Fernando, Pampanga in the the Philippines. This occurs once a year on Moundy Thursday in the early hours of the morning. Men walk a Via-Crucis visiting different churches in the town whils whipping them selves in a horizontal swinging motion with a white made from 25 pieces of bamboo which are tied to a braided rope.
